I guess I will start off this new forum. Notice I said favorite CURRENT amp, because let's face it, we guitarists are pretty fickle when it comes to the word favorite...
My amp of choice right now is a Diezel VH4S. I like it not only for the sound, but for the company behind it. Diezel is a small company committed to customer service. The designer himself will mod the amp free of charge, as he did for me recently. Granted, he lives in germany, but hey...
Anyway, the amp sounded great before the mod, but now it is just unreal. Very complex tone, if that makes any sense. Also has some sophisticated switching capabilities via MIDI. I recorded my last song (Full Circle) with the modded Diezel and my Ibanez Prestige RG2820 (with Dimarzio Tone Zone and Air Norton installed). My song before that (Worlds InA Blade Of Grass) was with my Carvin DC127 (stock pickups), with the Diezel before the mod. Both songs should give a good glimpse into the Diezel. Of course then again, it is so hard to separate the amp from the player, from the guitar, from the pickups, etc when it comes to assessing tone...
So let's hear about your favorite amp! And if you have links to clips with the amp, post them!

Well, for my favourite amp, I have a choice between a Hi-Gain JCM900...or a Peavey Blazer. Hmm.
But I love the amp because it's straight-out heavy-as-hell distortion. Sounds brilliant.
No clips as of yet, but I'll see if we can get something down on Minidisk at our next gig! |

| I just picked up a Peavey Triumph 60 that sounds great. It's a 3 channel that really has a lot of versatility, but the best part is I got it for $150 |

| no, peavey amps are muchos shitos. you want a mesa boogie dual rectifier. f*****g heavy as hell, deep deep distortion, crunchier than anything you can imagine. Or a marshall amp, thos hench stacks are amazing. My brothers got one, and the bottom is, like, 400 watts |

| Boogie's are great and all at their thing, they're just not for me.....I would've gotten a Marshall, had I not found this amp...it just has a great feel for it, and great tone. |

| Is it normal that a marshall mg100dfx sounds REALLY blurry when I plug my Ibanez RG370 in it? It's really pissing me off. |

right now i'm using a roland blue cube 60 3 x 10. this is probably the best kept secret out there, and they are now discontinued. in addition i use a line 6 flextone III, but the roland actually comes closer to a tube sound than the line 6.
since i'm a home player tube amps were just too loud...i traded in a fender hot rod deville for the roland. surprisingly good. |

| My favourite has got to be the Mesa Triaxis. (At the moment I've just got this running into the power amp section of a Marshal AVT20 but I'm hoping to get a Mesa power amp soon). I have the preset on it used by Metallica and it sounds awesome! |

I know what u mean about mesa's being pricey. I got mine second hand on ebay for about £600 (they cost around £1900 here in the UK!) It works fine (so far!)
Does anyone know wher I can get a Groovetubes SEII or the Marshall equivalent? |
